After a turbulent 3 week stay in the SGH , Dad was discharged as medically fit to leave & return to his home.
Alas Dad deteriorated rapidly & refused food & drank limited fluids.
After consultation with his GP (Dr Phillipson) we entered palliative care for Dad, this is when the district nurse (Jo) came to see us & thoroughly check Dad over for sores & his general well-being.
From the offset we stressed that we didn’t want Dad to suffer either mental or physical duress, Jo provided us with clear but a concise dialogue to what she was going to provide Dad at this highly charged & emotional time.
Jo was highly professional & empathic in Dad’s final days & hours & offered the family reassurance that Dad was ‘comfortable’.
Within the nursing support sector there is not enough praise afforded such wonderful & professionals such as Jo & thus I feel compelled to afford her praise, where praise is due, thank you Jo for all your support & dedication.
"Thank you for all your support & dedication"
