I attended recently at QEH (Neurology) for a follow up appointment with
Dr Farrugia.
I would like to highlight 2 people for being a credit to the NHS - Dr Farrugia (Neurology Specialist) and Grace (Health Care Support Worker).
Firstly, Dr Farrugia has been my specialists over the past 2years. She is a very caring, considerate and compassionate person who has always been very professional and personable. She puts my mind at ease, takes time to explain her diagnosis, plans of action and next steps.
Dr Farrugia is different to most Doctors I have dealt with as she always asks for my thoughts, my opinions and take these on board when making any decisions.
This is a huge thing for me as it shows she cares and makes me feel listened to!
Dr Farrugia is firm but fair whilst using her expertise to make me understand the pros and cons of something that I may push back on or not understand!
I can be a headstrong patient which must be difficult to deal with but Dr Farrugia always finds a way to make feel better and she is always smiling which makes me smile regardless of the severity of the situation.
Thank you Dr Farrugia and don't change the person you are!
We need more Doctors and staff like this in our NHS.
The 2nd person I would like to thank is Grace. After my appointment I went to get bloods taken and was met by Grace who was smiling, kind and chatty. I highlighted I don't like needles and won't be looking.
Grace was kind with her words, gentle in the care given during bloods which made me feel at ease especially when I have a fear of needles.
She made sure I was ok thoughtout and even offered me some water.
Thank you Grace for making my experience bearable and looking after me!
We need more staff like this in the NHS.
