"Great compassionate care"

About: Borders General Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a relative),

We had an unexpected visit to the BGH when my mother-in-laws feeding tube had fallen out. It has been a stressful few weeks with a cancer diagnosis and a major surgery.

The care and compassion we received from A & E right through to the Endoscopy department was just fantastic.

All staff treated my mother-in-law with respect and empathy. They also took her sense of humour in good spirit.

We would like to give a special mention to Gayle, Rhys, the Locum Consultant (gastro) and the other members of the Endoscopy department as they truly went above and beyond.

We are grateful that we have such good people working in the BGH.

Dear Lexiea04

Thank you for taking time to share your story with us on Care Opinion. I am sorry to hear about this difficult time for you all.

I am pleased to hear the experience with our Endoscopy team was met with care and compassion, respect and empathy. Our team often go above and beyond to ensure patients are supported and feel valued during an episode of care in our department.

I have passed on your kind words, which are greatly received. These stories always boost staff morale when working with the competing demands in the service.

With best wishes

Louise
