"So grateful to all of the staff"

About: Kilbryde Hospice / Inpatient Care

(as a relative),

My wife was cared for at Kilbryde Hospice. I am so grateful to the all of the staff at St Andrews and Kilbryde Hospice. The staff organised a zoom call from my wife’s room to the bridal shop where my daughter was trying on her wedding dress. They put balloons round her bed and had some Prosecco on hand. My wife me was able to see our daughter, gave the thumbs up and said “Ten out of ten”. She passed away later that night. I cannot tell you how much we appreciated that gesture.

Dear bravobw65

Thank you for taking the time to post the story of your wife's care at Kilbryde Hospice on Care Opinion. As Clinical Services Director of Kilbryde Hospice, I was delighted to hear of the work that our entire hospice team put into making the "Say Yes to The Dress Moment" such a memorable experience for all of you. The fact that your wife was able to participate albeit virtually meant that she shared one of the most precious moments with your daughter. I love that she managed a wee sip of Prosecco and a thumbs up for your daughter to see. I imagine you and the family will treasure these moments for ever.

Your wife was cared for by our CLan team at home, and I am delighted that we had the privilege of caring for your wife and the extended family in Kilbryde at the end of her life.

Please take care of your self in the coming weeks and months and if you need our help in the future please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards

Margaret Mary
