"Appointment letter"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as the patient),

I was referred for an ultrasound at CDC in Lincoln. I didn’t hear about an appointment so I rang up and was told the date and time of my appoiontment. Good job I rang up as no appointment letter came or a text, even though they have my mobile number.

Apparently I wasn’t the only one that day who didn’t get notified. Feel disappointed in the system as I could have missed my appointment and would have had to wait for it again after already waiting ages.

Dear Kat1967

Thank you for getting in touch and I am sorry that you had not had communication with us regarding your ultrasound appointment. Firstly I am pleased that you did get to your appointment, however I agree that it was down to you taking the time to chase up the appointment and I agree this is not a great system.

We are experiencing some issues with the Royal Mail for a variety of reasons, however our booking team are working hard to try and ensure patients are aware of their appointment date and time and apologies that this was not the case for you. Regarding text messages, we do not have the ability at the moment to do this and it is something we are looking to try and resolve. Our colleagues in the Out Patient Departments are able to send text messages however we have a different booking system and are currently unable to do so.

Once again thank you for giving us your invaluable feedback - it helps us to learn how we can improve services for patients.

Kind regards

Matron
