I’m mostly housebound…winter months bed bound but worse I had a drive I kept falling over on.
Asked council to just bung a load of tarmac on but they couldn't do even going through OT they tried.
Cashed in my pension and got it mono blocked
Then I hit another snag I couldn’t get a single beam disability rail like you see outside community centres disability ramps. No one could understand why I would want that and not railings, despite explaining about fainting, fits space etc, or they didn’t do it.
Contacted OT department again and OT Fiona totally understood straight away. It was such a relief I got the rail but more someone understood my disabilities.
I’m proactive in my health care and make sure whatever I have I can sort it myself. I hate asking for help and appearing as vulnerable as I am. Yet I’ve had to fight to get heard and help so when I do get help it means so much to me
…it’s also nice to know that there is still kindness in this world
Now I can I sit/lie out in the hot weather. I feel as though I’ve got a bit more of a life even though I’ve not much of a life, if you get my driftツ
These guys are worth waiting in gold
And this is where our NHS is great not just emergencies but amazing people in amazing jobs
Thank you
"They are the best"
