My mother was massively overdosed on a diuretic, to the extent that her minor kidney disease became major. There has never been any ownership of this error by the GP concerned or the practice as a whole and no apology.
My mother's health and mobility has declined exponentially since this occurred. Understandably my mother's faith and trust in her GP practice has been dented and this is not helped by the continuous lack of communication and continuity within the practice which leads to duplication of tests, missed opportunities and a generally lacklustre level of care.
The practice is running on 3 GPs when it should have 5. Locums come and go, practice nurses come and go, receptionists and managers come and go. There is clearly a problem within the practice and this needs addressing.
