Whatever the opposite of a good bedside manner is, this blood test was it. So bad it's still making me laugh. Ushered into apparently empty blood test room with zero instruction. Impatient call comes from someone out of sight behind a screen, "cubicle 2!". No hello in response to mine. No sit down here please, just a gesture. No eye contact. Silently reviews form. "Move forward!" (in chair). She's on a wheeled office chair, but I have to come to her; am now perched on edge of chair. Aggressively casts disposable needle caps into bin as if disgusted by them. Reviews vein with elastic arm band thing in hand. Casts band thing aside as if disgusted by that. "Straighten your arm!" Wordless taking of bloods (apparently proficient and painless). "It's finished." Still no eye contact. I couldn't help laughing as I left and passed the others waiting their turn.
On the plus side it was seriously quick and efficient! But seriously, this isn't acceptable in the care service. Get some manners. She acted like she hated me before I even entered the cubicle (not that she bothered setting eyes on me after that). People far more vulnerable than me will go through these procedures and need to be treated with much more care than this.
