Recently gave birth in Antrim and was transferred on to ward C2, I was on this ward for an extended period of time due to my daughter being jaundice and requiring treatment. My plan was to try and breast feed, as a first time mum on a busy ward, this was far from easy.
I felt mentally and physically exhausted, hadn't slept in days and felt like giving up. I then met Andrea & Jill, these 2 are angels sent from heaven, they supported me throughout and gave me the encouragement I needed at my lowest points. Their support and compassion for what I was going through made me continue and I am so delighted I did. Nothing was to much hassel for Jill, she went above and beyond for me and I will always be thankful for meeting her at one of my lowest points. I would also like to acknowledge Michelle, I met this lovely lady the day before I was discharged and she was fabulous, very attentive whilst caring for us.
These ladies deserve to be recognised and rewarded for their level of patient care.
