"Impossible to get an appointment"

About: Great Oakley Medical Centre

If you do manage to get an appointment you're likely to receive a good service, how ever getting one is nearly impossible. You'll be on hold for 90 minutes from 8am sharp and when they finally answer they tell you they have no more appointments for the day and you either call next day or go to hospital. Next day same is likely to happen and you could go on days without being able to get an appointment. Sometimes the appointment is just the doctor calling back and telling you to send him a picture, then he sends you antibiotics without actually seeing the doctor, I guess this is fine-ish for an adult but for my 1 year old daughter. Pretty sad

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. Following feedback from our patients and comments that are similar to yours we have now improved our appointment system and increased the number of online requests and same-day appointments that are available, and these changes have been positively received by our patients. Many of our patients appreciate our ability to manage some medical problems remotely and this will sometimes involve using photographs, although we are still able to offer face to face appointments when needed. We are sorry that you were disappointed by this experience.

Kind regards, Dr Joanne Watt (senior partner)
