(as a service user),

My 4 year old N was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in February 2024. I was 8 months pregnant and my mother was critically unwell in hospital. It was probably one of the most stressful times of my life.

From the moment my son was diagnosed, we have received the most incredible holistic care from the paediatric diabetes team.

Heather, Becca, Seán, Maria and the other nurses provide us with support and advice whenever we need. It has helped our transition into managing his 24/7 condition feel so much more manageable.

All the consultants we meet every 3 months for his regular check ups are always so thorough, and always take the time to make us feel seen and heard.

Dr Chris and Dr Dave where would we be without your empathy, humour and making us feel we are doing the best we can with the resources we have. You are all fantastic practitioners and human beings.
