I was in hospital for some day surgery, however due to living alone, I had to stay overnight as a safety precaution for the anesthetic.
The surgical team were absolutely lovely, I don't usually go to the Victoria Hospital, normally I would be in Queen Margaret's, however they we all so friendly and that makes a huge difference in creating a calm space before surgery.
Afterwards, I was put in Ward 44 to recover and stay overnight, the team here were wonderful and always available if I needed anything - although I like to be as fuss free as possible. I can vaguely remember the doctors coming by in the morning and asking questions, however I am sure I just spoke a bunch of random responses.
I am positive that some of the anesthetics mix poorly with my daily medications as I always seem to have issues walking, thinking or speaking the morning after, I know what I want to say but the words don't come out. The ward team recognised this and gave me the time to come to my senses again before being discharged.
Now that my procedures are every 4 week, I will no doubt see them all again and I am thankful for their care and attentiveness.
"Friendly and chilled"
