"SCC on tongue"

About: Outpatients Department / Oral Maxillo Facial Surgery Department (OMFS)

(as a service user),

I attended Altnagelvin Maxillofacial to discuss an SCC on my tongue. I was very nervous before meeting with Mr Stenhouse having had the malignant carcinoma identified on my tongue and have now an appt to discuss CT and MRI scans. I had resigned myself to some major treatment.

Jennifer the Care nurse was first to greet me and put me at ease explaining the agenda. Charlotte the registrar who then spoke to me first explained the results of the scans and that the outcome was very positive. Mr Stenhouse then explained in simple terms but in detail the plan of treatment ahead.

As in my previous meetings in this clinic I can only thank all the staff for their diligence, care and professionalism. They do  the NHS proud and deserve a lot more pay than they get at present.
