"The care and attention I was given was excellent"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Endoscopy Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / SEAL (Surgical Elective Admission Lounge)

(as the patient),

At the end of May this year I was admitted to the Victoria Hospital for a Robotic Assisted Right Hemicolectomy. This operation was performed by Mr. Proctor.

I can Honestly say that the care and attention I was given from my first diagnosis at Queen Margaret hospital to the recovery on HDU and ward 44 at the Victoria Hospital was excellent.

I left hospital 48hrs after a 5hr major surgery to recover at home. The recovery has been amazing! I was told that robotic surgery was the way to go as the recovery time was much quicker but I never expected it to be this good.

I'm a retired midwife young in my mid 70s and I can't praise Mr. Procter and all the staff at both hospitals enough. Robotic surgery is definitely the way forward.

Dear duncan49,

I can remember you from your visit to us at Queen Margaret Hospital when you were given your initial diagnosis and I am delighted to hear back from you after you have had your surgery and well on the road to recovery. Your kind words about your experience through your journey were lovely to hear as we don't always hear how a patient journey ends once they leave endoscopy. I hope you continue a good recovery and will pass your message on to the members of the team.

yours sincerely

Yvonne Bernard, Charge Nurse
