"Helpful staff - shame on waiting times."

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Neurology (Brain, Spinal and Nerves) Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My two year old has been having seizures on and off since October 2024. He's now had a total of 6 Seizures, the first 3 all came with a temperature and the last four there has been no temp and no warning. We have been up to Aberdeen's Children Hospital three times for the seizures now and each time the staff have been brilliant. They are all so good with my son, and although you can sometimes be waiting a while to be seen all staff are knowledgeable and helpful.

He has since been referred to neurology and I'm concerned about the waiting time and lack of communication as we've not received anything to state he is on a waiting list or how long the wait is. Its really scary as these seizures don't appear to have any warning, i find I'm getting really anxious on days he's in nursery as it happens so quick, we had an incident where he just started seizing on my bed and i didn't get to him in time so he fell off the bed and hit his head off the wooden floor which resulted in him then having to be checked out, lucky no permeant damage was done. Just finding it quite frustrating on the lack of communication, but i cant complain about staff all were so caring and helpful.
