(as a relative),

My wife went into labour in late May. The care she received from the midwife on MLU, and then subsequently CLU was simply amazing. Everyone we encountered throughout our short stay, from the midwives, senior charge midwife, as well as Dr Durden (registrar), were thoroughly professional and considerate to both my wife as well as me. Even when we encountered obstacles during the second stage of labour, the entire team were so calm and attentive. Whilst I was understandably angst shortly before delivery, I was also somewhat relaxed as I had 100% faith in the team involved in my wife's care.

The care we received postnatally was also faultless. My wife received great support to aid her in breastfeeding and felt confident enough before we were discharged home to continue our long journey of parenthood. It could not have gotten off to a better start, thanks to the Obstetric team at VHK.

My heartfelt congratulations. Thank you for sharing your experience. Birth partners are so incredibly important for women in their experience through out labour and as a team we want to ensure that you are very much involved, listened to and cared for too.

I am glad both you and your wife felt safe and secure even when things did not to according to plan. The expertise, knowledge and skills of all the team are the key component in that and we appreciate you recognising and acknowledging that.

I will share your kind words with Dr Durden as well as the Senior charges within MLU, CLU and the ward to share with colleagues.

I wish you well on the beautiful amazing journey of parenthood. Its a rollercoaster!
