(as the patient),

I have a Stammer and I have been going to Speech and Language Therapy for the last few years. With the help of my lovely Speech and Language Therapist Aoibheann, I am able to cope and manage my stammer so much better than I did before and actually some days I don’t stammer at all. The main improvement has been my self confidence which everyone noticed has improved thanks to Speech and Language Therapy sessions 🙏

It’s important to recognise the wonderful work the Speech and Language Therapists are doing and to we are so thankful for all the support and encouragement you provide to children like myself! So here is a massive thank you to all at Southern Health and Social Care Trust Speech and Language department!

Shaker99, this is really wonderful to read! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story about your experience of Speech and Language Therapy.

Aoibheann is a fantastic SLT and, as you say, she is so lovely, supportive and encouraging. I am delighted to hear that, as a result of her support, you have improved self confidence. The fact that you can now cope with and manage your stammer shows how committed you have been on your communication journey and how hard you have worked. Well done on achieving these wonderful results by working in partnership with Aoibheann.

I will share your story with Aoibheann and the rest of our SLT department and pass on your very kind words, they really do mean so much to us!
