"Fantastic service with ongoing improving injury"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Physiotherapy Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

It’s about the speed and efficiency of my local nhs to treat initially then follow on treatment.

I had a bad fall onto my right arm which at first thoughts it could be broken. Attended Crosshouse Hospital and received an X-ray which discounted that diagnosis.

I was referred to Arlene ( one stop shop clinic) in A/E the following week.

After some very precise range of movement tests I was referred to hospital physio.

I then attended the clinic again after a few weeks to make sure that the recovery was improving or address any concerns about future steps.

We both agreed that it may be prudent to attend Mr Tanagho’s clinic to have the injury ultrasound done and maybe a cortisone injection if warranted.

I got the appointment 3 weeks later which was really good going based on historical referrals done through my doctors.

Attended that with Arlene and Mr Tanagho who looked at the injury then proceeded to inject the wound using ultrasound.

Fantastic service with ongoing improving injury.

Dear omegazm87

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this lovely feedback about the care provided within the Emergency Department, University Hospital Crosshouse.

I sorry to hear that you required to attend the Emergency Department with an injury to your arm, but glad to hear that you were assessed, treated and referred for follow-up with Arlene and from there with Mr Tanagho. This is a lovely example of the patient centred care that we strive to provide.

When times are challenging, it’s always nice to hear such positive feedback from our patients and it will be my pleasure to share your feedback with the wider Team in the Department and with Arlene and Dr Tanagho in particular.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind regards

Pamela
