I had a concerning experience on 09/06/2024 when I received an unexpected call from the receptionist at my GP practice.
Without any prior notice, she began questioning me about my place of residence. I was caught off guard and felt rushed during the conversation, which led me to mistakenly say that I did not live at the address I actually reside at.
What was even more troubling was that she proceeded to ask about my father, sister, and brother, requesting that I confirm their addresses over the phone. I felt this was an unnecessary and inappropriate breach of privacy and security.
Due to the rushed and unprofessional nature of the call, I was left confused and concerned. As a result, I’ve had to re-register with the same GP practice I’ve been registered with for the last nine years – unnecessarily, and entirely because of this misunderstanding.
I hope this feedback will be taken seriously to ensure a more professional and considerate approach in the future, particularly when handling sensitive personal information.
