"Staff working hard in difficult circumstances"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Bones, joint and fractures Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Theatres, Recovery and Anaesthetics

(as a service user),

I broke my ankle last week and the care I received in all departments (A&E, orthopaedics ward 10B and theatre) was excellent.

I was included in conversations about my care, the communication with me was great. All the teams were really busy and I did have to sit and wait for a bed etc, but the teams were trying hard in difficult circumstances.

Nicola Hunter, Staff Nurse, Emergency Department, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Dear Whippetswife.

I was sorry to hear that you sustained this painful ankle injury; requiring emergency treatment and surgery. It is heartening to hear that the care you received was good; and that you felt included in your own treatment plan. Unfortunately; the Emergency department can be very busy at times; and it is hugely unfortunate that you had to wait for a bed; for which I can only apologise for. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Hope you are continuing to recover from your painful injury. I will share your feedback with my colleagues; who will hugely appreciate this care opinion.

With regards- Nicola
