"My CHEC experience."

I feel beyond pleased with the results of my procedures with CHEC. I had my right and left eye cataracts removed. I am autistic and I was very concerned about the transport to and from the clinic. CHEC sent their driver and he was wonderful and helped me feel more at ease. I would advise any one autistic to bring along noise canceling headphones I found the music in the waiting area very loud. However none autistic people would not notice this. The staff were beyond wonderful and very friendly. I would like to say a huge thank you not only to the staff but to both surgeons. I found one of the surgeons bedside manor abrupt. However perhaps that is just me being over sensitive. They were both highly skilled professionals and the results of the procedures for me are amazing. Thank you does not seem enough for the gift of sight. I would advise anyone having second thoughts about the operation not to be concerned. There was no pain and the procedure was over very quickly. Prior to the appointment a friend who had already had the procedure talked me through everything that would happen. At one point after a latex sheet is placed on your face for a moment you can see the surgeon bringing a scalpel towards your eye. This is simply to cut a hole in the latex. I was expecting it however if I had no prior knowledge that part would have been a major issue for me. Also for your first appointment if you are a contact lenses wearer it is important not to wear them for a period of time I cannot remember how long I am sure the staff at CHEC could advise. Thank you again to everyone at CHEC.
