It’s impossible to get a GP appointment. Once you do, the GP in my case requested bloods, once these results are back and they are “normal”, that is the end of your care. No follow up appointment to look at further investigation to your symptoms just “no further action” as your bloods are “normal”.
Whatever happened to a routine follow up appointment? If someone is saying they feel chronically unwell and their tests come back normal, does that mean they are suddenly better?
I have spent two years feeling chronically unwell and I’ve given up on ever feeling better. This surgery is just another battle in the process. I fear one day I will be told I have some form of terminal illnesses which could have been treated. But with an inability to see a GP and no pathways to getting better, what can I do.
Another example of their poor service was my steroid inhaler causing sores in my mouth. Rang the surgery to be told you need to see a pharmacist. Ok, so off I went to see a pharmacist, who (shock horror) said it’s your inhaler and that a gp needs to review/change it.
Call the surgery, no, the gp won’t see you. It’s for the asthma nurses. Ok, no problem. Get a call back, no the asthma nurses won’t see you it isn’t something they’d do. Ok, now what? I’m told to Call 111.
I left it, then several months later when I had my normal asthma review. Lo and behold the asthma nurses changed my inhaler. Now all is fine but it shows you the level of red tape and silly games this practice makes you jump through.
