To: Mr Tarsha
I’ve always thought it a bit strange that a consultant becomes a ‘MR’ when he was in fact always a Mr before becoming a doctor. So, I’m going to rename you as ‘My Hero!’
When I was first admitted to A & E at NDDH and sent home with a diagnosis of diverticulitis, I instinctively knew it was the wrong diagnosis and was relieved when I was re-admitted two days later to learn that I had a cyst on my ovaries.
When you first engaged with me, I felt safe and in good hands for the first time since my admission. You had a lovely way of communicating that was not only professional but also reassuring.
You went beyond the call of duty to get me to theatre and operate long after you were due to go finish your surgery for the day and I am hugely grateful to you and your team for such consideration.
I was back driving five days after surgery and have now fully recovered and enjoying a pain free active life once again.
I’m full of gratitude that you were on duty from Exeter Hospital on the day of my surgery and for taking such good care of me.
All the best and I’m sure you will continue being the amazing human being and consultant that you are.
😊
