"Exactly what I needed when I felt so unsure"

About: Royal Jubilee Maternity services / Gynaecology and Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare

(as the patient),

I had a new sexual partner and a week later experienced extreme pain while urinating, I assumed it was a UTI but two days later I noticed blisters on the inside of my vagina.  I am a medical student so I knew it was herpes but I wanted to confirm it. I went to the sexual health clinic in Queens University Belfast and got it swabbed. It came back positive for HSV 1.

The staff at the clinic were exactly what I needed when I felt so unsure of what was going on. They provided me with reassurance, information and treatment to stop the pain.
