"Absurd and unacceptable delay with prescriptions"

About: Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

In June 2025 I ordered a new delivery of epoe injections. I need this for my anaemia. I was told that it will take 4 - 6 weeks to arrange this. I wish to complain about this specific service and also about the generally uncaring system in place. The renal anaemia team provides an excellent service. That is compromised by an absurd new "system" under the terms of which prescriptions issued by clinicians for certain injections have to be approved by others. The estimated time for such approval is now "4 to 6 weeks". Typically only 6 weeks supply is prescribed the effect of this means that it is simply arithmetically impossible for a patient to be certain that he or she will have sufficient supply. This problem is compounded by the fact that the delivery service contracted to deliver the medication is hopelessly incompetent, does not answer when telephoned.

None of this is the fault of the clinicians all of it is to the detriment of the patients. No administrator who has the best interests of the patient at heart can possibly have organised such an alleged system.
