After a 5-hour wait IN A&E, was seen by a doctor. I explained I was in a wheelchair because I was unable to walk that day. The doctor asked me to get on the bed, which rolled away from me. My husband had to help me onto the bed.
After answering the doctor's questions, they said I had chronic back pain and I had to move about. Walking good for it. Gave me naproxen and co-codamol and sent me home. They then asked me to get off the bed to let them see me walking. I couldn’t even lift my shoulders off the bed. My husband helped me and I stumbled into the wheelchair.
I have since consulted Ross Hall and I urgently need a right hip replacement and left will need to be done as well in the not too distant future. I had x-rays done at Wishaw which stated not any worse than first x-ray. I have been in the most excruciating pain since the beginning of April and cannot understand how such deterioration could happen in such a short time.
I felt that I wasn’t being listened to. I am now on the NHS waiting list for operation, still in severe pain, cannot stand or walk for any length of time and unable to leave the house without help.
