"Negligence following basic steps"

About: Jubilee Street Practice

I have just been to my GP The Jubilee street practice to have my blood collected. Apart from being kind, the nurse or what so ever is her position, was -completely- unprofessional in -not- following -basic- steps for a blood colect procedure.

First, she -did not- change her gloves. She -kept- wearing the same ones she was using the computer and also the ones she was dealing with the previous patients.

No enough, she touched with the gloves on top of the spot where she poked with -no wiping- or sanitising the place before inserting the needle.

I felt disgusted and completely stressed with the lack of professionalism she showed in a point it made me cry of how upset and how such a basic thing she did not do and made my head full and worried! I hope I won’t get any kind of infection or whatever it could bring to my health/myself.

Dear Patient,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Jubilee Street Practice. We are very sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the blood collection procedure, and we would like to extend our sincere apologies for the distress this caused you.

Patient safety, infection control, and professionalism are of the utmost importance to us, and we take these matters extremely seriously. The issues you have raised—particularly regarding glove use, sanitisation, and overall hygiene—fall well below the standards we expect from our staff. We fully understand how this experience could have made you feel anxious and upset, and we are very sorry that this was your experience at our practice.

We are keen to investigate this incident further and take appropriate action. In order to do so, we would appreciate it if you could contact the practice and speak with a member of the management team in confidence. This will allow us to identify the clinician involved, review the procedure in detail, and ensure any necessary steps are taken to prevent a recurrence.

Your feedback is extremely valuable in helping us improve the care we provide. Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention.

Kind regards,

Kamal

Chief Executive Officer
