"Rockers never grow old"

About: Trauma & orthopaedics / Orthopaedic National Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

Hi I was treated at NTC, Fife, Kirkcaldy. I went in for a full knee replacement for which I had been on a 2 year waiting list. While I was on the list for a different hospital, I decided to contact NTC Kirkcaldy and in doing so I was seen within 4 months from my 1st appointment and have been seen by Mr Keenan, the consultant I received the operation from.

I would like to thank all the staff at NTC Fife Orthopaedics room 2 Mr Keenan, surgical team, nursing auxiliaries, physio team, porters, domestics, chefs & kitchen staff for my time being looked after while I had my full replacement surgery. All the  nursing staff made my time a comfortable experience and the care before the operation and after was absolutely brilliant and so so caring. I had many a laugh with the staff extra especially when they knew I was wanting to attend a AC/DC gig in August 🀘. I had an epidural while I was being operated on and I couldn’t believe it, while I was getting being prepared for the operation I was asked what music taste I like. Well there I was with AC/DC through the headphones and it was brilliant. I am operated on and I am head banging to Highway to hell 😈🀘

Seriously thank you all, rockers never grow old πŸ€˜πŸ˜ˆπŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ’•

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to post feedback on care opinion, regarding your recent experience at the National Treatment Centre. All patient feedback received is greatly valued, as this allows the NTC team to learn and improve the service. We aim to put all patients at the centre of all decisions made for the service. Hence, all feedback received contributes towards this.

I appreciate your recognition of the full National Treatment Centre team and the impact they have made during your time at the National Treatment Centre.

It is rewarding to know that the team made you feel comfortable and that you felt the care provided was brilliant. Attending for surgery can be a daunting experience. Therefore, it is great to know that you had the opportunity to listen to your favourite music, whilst having your full knee replacement surgery, which helped to make this a more enjoyable experience.

I will share your feedback with the National Treatment Centre team and I am sure they will be delighted with your comments. Thank you.

I hope you are recovering well following your operation and you are all set for your concert in August. I hope you have the best time.

Take care,

Briony Klos

Senior Charge Nurse
