Having lost my husband a few weeks back, he would normally have provided me with some support! I have a serious long term condition, but nobody at this surgery could be bothered to spend 30 seconds to identify or agree it existed. GP's believe older folk are incapable of identifying their own needs. The doctors, the district nurse, the 111 service, area duty doctor for the over all area, and ambulance trip to A&E where I experienced the most appalling lack of care. with a the a doctor who very obviously couldn't be bothered. Unable to walk unaided, I was ordered to find my own way home, gone 10 p.m. and with nobody at home, with a very embarrassing situation to manage, who would allow me in their vehicle?
Going back to the GP, their comment was 'they didn't listen' and were apologetic ... a bit late I felt? For the next week I had painful abdominal skin burns, adding to my problems, but nobody has contacted me to see it I am ok, even having one staff member commenting on how many times I had logged onto the system? The only real help I ever get is from my fantastic local pharmacist!
The NHS (No Hope Service) now expect everyone to pay to have online services and /or a mobile phone, where patients are known to be 30 to 60th in the phone queue, plus the fact that even intelligent beings don't understand how to access different parts of the invisible service, which of course the patient is paying for.
As long as the patients in on the phone ... they are footing the bill!
It is very frightening indeed to have the cope with the issues I have, and know there is no one to reach out to in times of a crisis. Having very recently been bereaved, the lack of any care or support, unable to walk unaided to to spinal injury, indeed makes you question why doctors have lists, but are not available to justify their pay. One or two doctors try to appear kind and understanding as long as you are not expecting them to do anything for you, being kind and understanding, claiming to 'care' is not substitute for a 30 second inspection that could have indeed saved the NHS a lot of money ... but when you become 'tarred and feathered', don't expect any support from GP's or the NHS!
I am so very disappointed, paying for a private consultation that taught me things about my health, the GP's, the hospital or the 111 service, didn't even know about ... we are indeed a Third World Country ... blessed with the thought that life doesn't last forever!
