"He will make an excellent nurse"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

My dad was admitted to ward 3b at Crosshouse hospital in March 2025 where he spent a week before being moved to 3a.

During his time in 3b, Walter looked after my dad, dad had vascular dementia and later found out he also had AML and sadly passed away at the beginning of May.

The family wanted to extend our sincere thanks and to Walter for the care attention and respect he showed, he went over and above to ensure that dad had everything he needed. Even when dad was moved to 3a, Walter would check on him and make sure a familiar face was around which my dad loved, he didn’t remember many people but Walter always brought a smile to his face.

He will make an excellent nurse and although I hope the family never have to have him care for any of us for obvious reasons, if any of us do have to go to hospital, Walter is the type of person I’d want caring for me.
