"Unhelpful practice difficult to get appointments"

About: Stanford Medical Centre

I am a lady in my 90s who requires earwax removal appointments approximately twice a year. However, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to secure a timely appointment at the Practice. I’m usually advised to call closer to the six-month mark, but even when I do so, I’m often told that the next available appointment isn’t for another two months. This delay can be quite distressing, as earwax build-up affects my hearing and overall wellbeing. Given my age and the impact on my day-to-day life, I would greatly appreciate a more reliable and accessible system for booking these routine but essential appointments.

I'm sorry to hear you have had difficulty getting an appointment. We only put clinics on a few months at a time so patients are not able to book 6 months in advance. We also don't operate like a hospital for follow ups as for our clinics they are patient led so patients need to call to make their appointment. We currently have a 6-7 wait for an appt due to the volume of patients we see. There are other practices in Brighton that offer this service if you wish to go somewhere else please contact the surgery who can provide details.
