"Swift action and amazing teamwork"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Ward A6 Stroke Unit Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response Royal Victoria Hospital / Acute Stroke Unit

(as a relative),

My mother , a healthy person in her 70s dropped with a stroke. She was rushed to Antrim area hospital by ambulance where a stroke team were waiting on her.

The swift action and amazing team work of the staff not only saved my mother’s life but gave her back her ability to enjoy life as it was before her stroke. They were so kind, professional and attentive.

They kept us in the loop at all times  ,keeping us informed in detail of what was happening. She was transferred to the royal hospital for removal of clot then back to Antrim area hospital  to finish her care.

The physio , nurses , consultants , stroke team ( one was called Rachel ) are a credit to the health care system and should be applauded for their knowledge and care.

I would like to thank them on behalf of our entire family.
