"Professional and friendly medical personnel"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

After waiting 8 years to have a cholecystectomy I was finally admitted to Day Surgery Unit in Antrim Hospital. I was met by SN C who immediately put me at ease with her welcome .

I was then seen quickly by anaesthetic team and consultant Ms M. All my questions were answered and I felt that I was in the care of professional and friendly medical personnel.

I was assured that anaesthesia had greatly improved since my last surgery and that I shouldn't experience nausea. This was the case and a few hours post op I was in bed  with a cosy warming blanket and some tea and toast.

Four hours after surgery I felt well enough to walk out to the front door of the hospital with two very kind escorts from the ward.

I could not give higher praise to the entire team at Antrim Day Procedure Unit. While I would prefer not to have any further visits there myself of course I would tell anyone booked into the unit that they would receive the very best of care.!
