About: Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust

My doctor referred me to a Humber mental health nurse to help me with my anxiety. The mental health nurse I saw was horrible. She always turned up early and then finished the session early. She was rude. She did not listen to me. She did not look at me, instead typing notes on her computer. She refused to accept a previous suicide attempt I disclosed making, insisting it was self-harm when it was not. She kept going on about politics, which I felt was entirely inappropriate and irrelevant. This was a very bad experience. I stopped going to the sessions as they were making me feel worse. I switched to another provider in Hull and I have to say feel much better for it. I would advise anyone feeling anxious or down to do the same. Mental health nurses are not counsellors.
