"I felt supported and well informed"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I attended Raigmore scanning department for a dating scan, hoping to hear good news about my pregnancy.

Unfortunately, there was no heartbeat and it was found that baby stopped growing around 6 weeks. Jocelyn who did my scan showed great compassion and professionalism when sharing the sad news with me. I was then shown to a private room and offered a cuppa while I processed the news. Gillian from early pregnancy then came in and spoke me through my options.

I felt supported and well informed during the whole process. Although it was not the outcome I was hoping for, I would like to thank the scanning department and early pregnancy for their support and sensitivity during this difficult time.
