(as a service user),

Due to being on mounjaro for my physical health needs (diabetes) I have been told that after taking medication for over a year the last 3 months whilst on mounjaro with no side effects that they are not able to keep prescribing medication I feel that i am being penalised for having a physical condition as well as ADHD I shouldn’t have to choose which condition I medicate and my ADHD massively impacts my diabetes control

Hi I am Jo the manager for the Team. Firstly thank you for taking the time to complete the Care opinion Form as your feedback is very important to us. In reply to your query regarding mounjaro that is currently prescribed for your diabetes. Following a full discussion with the multidisciplinary team meeting regarding your concerns around your ADHD medication the following outcome was agreed:

Due to the impact Mounjaro has upon gastro functioning this would impact upon the elimination of ADHD medication that relies upon this function to be able to work to its optimal level. As Mounjaro is a relatively new drug all known risks in conjunction with any contraindications with other medicines is not fully known in regard to potential long term outcomes upon a patients health and wellbeing. As we do not have all these facts and figures to hand the collective decision from the team has been that caution needs to be adhered to prior to prescribing ADHD medication hence the decision not to prescribe at the moment due to these identified risks.
