My baby is 13 months old and just recently had his assessment with his health visitor Fiona. Fiona has been amazing with our family since we met her not only was she on hand to check in on my baby, she always asked how we are as a family unit, but the help and support given to myself after pregnancy was phenomenal. Fiona recognised straight away that i wasn't coping as well as I should have been and without hesitation put support in place, she also extended our fortnightly visits to check up on us. This made me feel that I was supported and my feelings were valid.
Fiona took the time to listen to my concerns and feelings but also reassure me! Due to this standard of exceptional care it's made me realise the lack of support I had with my first child who is almost 9. I hardly seen a HV and certainly never had the same one twice when he was little and certainly never felt listened to or supported. I feel that if I had the same support back then the things were dealing with now maybe would have been adressed!
Thank u so much Fiona for everything! Me and my family wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for your compassion, empathy and professionalism! Not all heroes wear capes!
