"My OT came to visit and listened to me"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Occupational Therapy

(as a service user),

I suffer from chronic pain in my legs and feet.

I have spent months waiting for doctors appointments,  I was at the stage where I was just going back to bed in the  morning,  my mood was at an all time low and I very rarely left the house.

Lorna my OT came to visit and listened to me, really listened, she showed interest in what I was saying, she never judged .

Slowly over the weeks we set a plan to get me motivated to get out and to start doing things that I enjoy...meeting up with friends, a bit of gardening and small walks.

My mood has lifted and although I'm still in pain I make sure that I do something every day.

It was good to have someone who could see the all of me.

Dear Listen13

Many thanks for sharing your experience of working with your occupational therapist, Lorna. It is great to hear how she listened to your concerns, really got to know you and helped you to develop a plan to get back on track with the things you enjoy. I'm sure this will make a big difference to your overall health and wellbeing and I wish you all the best for the future.

I wonder if you could share which GP practice your OT Lorna works from so I can make sure your feedback reaches the right team?

Many thanks for taking the time to share your story, all feedback is always gratefully received.

Sam
