"Wait 18 hrs before burst appendix was done"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

We arrived at 6 pm with a burst appendix.  Made to wait on the waiting floor for several hours.  Begged for pain killer and anti-nausea meds.  My son threw up three times on the waiting room floor, and while lying on the floor, he could not sit up.  I had to run and get vomiting bowls and clean up the mess myself.  After several hours, they got him to a bed, gave him anti-nausea medication. But no painkillers. Had to ask the doctor 3 times.  Went to look for them. They were sitting at a desk, laughing with staff. I then informed the doctor we had no pain meds. They said they had been given. I told them he had thrown up 3 times and had nothing as I had explained to them previously.  CT at 5 am.  No antibiotics. Surgery at 12pm. I think this treatment was dangerous and disgusting..
