"A very positive and empowering experience"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

(as a service user),

We were admitted to the maternity suite and induced. Our care from the midwife that shift was very good, I felt that my choices were listened to and I was respected the whole way through the first part of my induction. I was then taken to birthing suite where I had midwife (Katie) on the dayshift who delivered my baby alongside the senior midwife. The care that I received from Katie in birthing suite was exceptional and everything was explained to me throughout with the choices I had made in my birth plan adhered to as much as possible. It was a very positive and empowering experience considering I was very nervous of any kind of induction before I had my baby.

Dear November19,

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on the birth of your baby. An induction of labour can be a very nerving time for anybody.

I am delighted to read that the staff provided a high level of support, and that you felt well supported with your birth plan adhered to as much as possible, I will be sure to share your feedback with the team and the midwives involved.

All the best and once again, thank you for your kind words.

Stephen
