I recently had a telephone appointment to discuss a blood test and ultrasound around a sensitive topic that's causing anxiety and upset. I didn't know what was being looked for in either of the tests so I requested an appointment to discuss the results as I was just told they were normal but this didn't mean anything to me. The lady I spoke to was incredibly rude and quite clearly felt I was wasting her time. I asked what hormones they were testing for in the blood test to which she reeled some off very quickly that I had never heard of, didn't process what she had said and she gave me no explanation to what these hormones did. I asked her again what hormones were tested for to which she replied "I've already told you" and that was it. She was reluctant to give me any more information about the tests I had so I left with no more information than before the call. While I understand the NHS is incredibly busy and understaffed, that's no excuse to be rude to people, particularly when patients are going through a tough and uncertain time.
"Awful customer service"
