My father has just received an aortic valve replacement and aneurism correction. As you can imagine, this has been a very worrying time for him and us all as a family.
From the very beginning of this journey, the level of care and attention he received at outpatient clinics was second to none. We were kept very much informed of all information we needed to know, big thanks to nurse specialist Bronagh at the pre op clinic for such an informative clinic. I felt this made my daddy’s decision to proceed with surgery easier to make.
His surgeon Katie is one of the nicest ladies I’ve ever met, so down to earth, explained everything in simple but informative terms. I want to thank her second surgeon who assisted her on the day of surgery and kept me informed of the outcome of the surgery.
Daddy was even met by the anaesthetist Dr Sara, the night before surgery which alleviated a lot of anxiety he was experiencing. What a lady!! The care my daddy received in CSICU was exceptional, in particular we would like to praise SN Caitlin and Rebecca.
I would also like to thank SN Shaylyn, who recognised my daddy’s concerns and addressed these quickly and professionally. Shaylyn is a credit to the nursing profession and I will be forever grateful for the exceptional level of care she gave my daddy.
This has been a very positive experience for us as a family and this is purely down to the professionalism and the expertise of the cardiac teams in the RVH.
We cannot thank you all enough.
