I’ve had various experiences with this practice over the last few months, most of which have been positive. The staff are on the whole very helpful and kind, but I unfortunately had quite an unpleasant interaction today as I went to collect a form. The practice states that it is open until 8pm. I arrived at 7:50pm (granted this is fairly late in the day, but I had rushed from work and needed to collect a blood test form for the following morning, which would have been a 30 second job) and one of the receptionists very rudely shouted at me as she was getting into her car to go home that it was closed. I politely noted that I understood it didn’t close until 8pm, at which I got a sharp remark and was left feeling very embarrassed in the middle of the street. I completely understand that people want to go home, but please remember to be polite, even after a long day! The vast majority of the staff are lovely, so a real shame that someone has let the practice down. Whilst I was only collecting forms, I can’t imagine how someone coming in for something more serious would have felt in that moment, so just a reminder to please keep in mind that you are dealing with members of the public who are unwell and may already be feeling vulnerable, and rudeness (from both patients and reception staff) is not necessary nor acceptable. Similarly, if the practice does close earlier than 8pm, please make sure your website is updated to note this to avoid similar situations in future. Thank you.
