"Bad experience"

About: Royal Liverpool University Hospital

(as a service user),

My experience at this hospital was absolutely horrible. I had to wait for almost 5 hours, even though I was in pain and it was an emergency. The receptionist was extremely rude to me. They told me I had to wait just because I’m not from here, and I honestly felt discriminated against — it felt like racism. I don’t understand how someone can behave like that in a place where people come for help.

In the end, I needed surgery and I have to go tomorrow to another hospital with a specialist, so it was clearly not something minor that should have been delayed for that long. The way I was treated made me feel unwelcome and disrespected. I was only in Liverpool for a few months to learn English, and this experience has made me never want to come back. The staff’s attitude was awful, and I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to anyone.
