"Compassionate Care"

About: Victoria Hospital (Kirkcaldy)

(as a service user),

My son was seen in A&E one night recently. When we arrived the department was extremely busy with nearly a full waiting room. The receptionist was very helpful and put me at ease about my son’s injury.

We was shortly taken into triage by Nurse Sam who was brilliant, kind, gave my son more pain relief, then took us into the children’s area. Dr Olivia then saw my son, and shortly after Dr Sandy also came to review him. They were both extremely knowledgable and were able to put my son at ease including chatting to him about Pokèmon!

When my son required sedation, we met Nurse Louise who was so kind and caring, I really appreciated the cup of tea and my son loved the biscuits. Thank you to you all, you do a great job, I really appreciated all your kindness and compassion.

Thanks for taking the time to give this very positive feedback, I will ensure this is passed on to the staff concerned.

I hope your son is now recovering well.

Esther
