"The outstanding care I received"

(as the patient),

Teaching one Friday morning in Lanark I damaged my leg badly; cutting my shin into the bone. I was traumatised as there was blood everywhere and a huge tear in my leg exposing the flesh. My skin was folded right back like a concertina!  I called my local practice in Lanark and was told no one could see me as they were fully committed to bookings that day.

I had heard about the ‘Houldsworth Centre’ in Wishaw and in desperation gave them a call. Despite being fully booked, the staff immediately reassured me saying, they would help and asked their manager Greig to try and fit me in. 

Greig the manager and Taylor in their lunch hour cleaned and administered first aid to my wound assuring that my skin was carefully put back in place. I have been given appointments twice a week since this trauma and the wound is responding well to this excellent care and attention.

 I cannot explain how grateful I am to the staff and management of this Centre. This experience has restored my faith in the NHS and in the true care that health professionals have for their patients! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback on the Treatment Room Service at Houldsworth Centre and for the very positive comments Greig & Taylor, It is lovely to hear that you received excellent care & attention following your traumatic leg injury. This was understandably a very anxious time for you.

It is reassuring to hear that you witnessed professionalism and excellent care despite the challenges that staff sometimes face. This is the standard we work hard to deliver on a daily basis.

As with all services we are operating under a great deal of pressure so your positive feedback and recognition goes a long way to boosting staff and team morale. I am so proud of this feedback and I will ensure it is shared with Greig & Taylor as well as the wider team. I am delighted to hear your leg is responding well and hopefully it will be healed soon, I wish you well for the future.
