"First Time Mum Breastfeed Journey"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Infant Feeding Community Services in Grampian / Formartine Health Visitors

(as the patient),

Had my baby on a planned C-section, kind of hoping to breastfeed but was not too bothered if I couldn't do it. When baby was born, she was determined to feed from me, so I decided to give it a try. it was a very hard journey, she lost mor than 10% of weight and I was really struggling to breastfeed. Thanks to Fran, my Health Visitor, for supporting me and referring me to the Infant Feeding team (Faye) who with only one visit changed my breastfeeding journey for the better. I was able to feed my baby for 13months until we both were naturally ready to stop. Couldn't have done it without the support of my Health Visitor and the Infant Feeding Team
