I live in the Grampian area and recently attended Stracathro for a Haemorrhoidal procedure. After waiting so long for this and the need to travel for 3 hours and 3 different by buses to get there, I was filled with trepidation.
I did not need to be concerned though as from the second I arrived until the second I left, I was given only the best of care by a Staff that clearly are passionate about their vocation and the people they treat and look after so very well.
Normally, you are asked to single out individuals for additional praise but I honestly cannot as each and ever person, from Dr James the Surgeon and all the ward Staff were just brilliant, with me at no time feeling that I should be concerned or not in a position to ask any questions.
I have been sticking to the regime Dr James gave me and am please to say that with every passing day, the operated area appears to be recovering well and despite the first day being as painful as was explained, that pain degraded to mere discomfort after only a day and a week later with my stopping painkilling medicine after only 6 days. So I think very much a success.
Please pass my thanks to the whole Surgical team as they were just excellent throughout and even though it would have been nice not to have to travel so far, I am so very glad that I did. An absolute credit to NHS Tayside, thank you.
"An absolute credit"
