"Disregarded and disrespected"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Palliative care

(as a relative),

We pressed the call button because our mom was agitated and in pain and a nurse took ten minutes to respond and she said they would get the nurse in charge to administer the medication. We waited thirty minutes and then we had to go find a different staff member. They stared at our mom for ten seconds and decided she wasn’t in pain and said they had other patients who were actually in pain. They then proceeded to speak with an attitude and argue with my family, and after the altercation slammed the door shut in anger.

This is very disgusting behaviour coming from someone who is supposed to be taking care of the patient and patient's family. We have never experienced such nasty and vile behaviour from a staff member who was supposed to bring us comfort and make our mum feel comfortable. When we voiced our concerns that she wasn’t comfortable, we felt disregarded and disrespected.
