The district nursing team have been treating my father's legs for vascular ulcers. Every district nurse he has met has been brilliant. They visit his home regularly, always come when they say they will and treat him with compassionate care.
Both of my parents have been delighted with the service he has received from every staff member who has attended, all have been very professional and friendly. As a result of their attention to detail, changing treatment approaches where necessary, his wounds have much improved. They continue to monitor his progress and respond quickly to address any deterioration in the condition of his legs. All of this is done with great humour and spirit, meaning they feel like welcome visitors to my parents' home rather than health care providers. Sister Annette in particular provides great reassurance, instils confidence and goes the extra mile to ensure my father feels well cared for.
What a wonderful team! Thank you for the amazing, worthwhile job you all do. The fact that older patients can be cared for so professionally and to such a high standard, in their own home, without the challenge and disruption of having to get to a healthcare facility or the need for hospitalisation, should be a source of great pride for Southern Trust.
